Make sure you finish your President assignment over the weekend. Remember you have to write a paragraph telling me what you would do if you were President. Would you raise taxes or cut taxes, have more spending or less spending, what programs would you spend more on or spend less on. Remember we have both mandatory spending and discretionary spending in our country. What type of fiscal policy do your ideas best fit with?

We will be having a quick check tomorrow over some of the topics we have covered in the last couple of days. Look over your unemployment notes, inflation notes, and poverty notes.
We will be having our unit 4 test on Monday 11/17/14. They have their review sheet as of today and we will be outlining the essay tomorrow. Happy studying!
Tomorrow you will have a quick check covering GDP, GNP, Real GDP, Nominal GDP, and the business cycle. Don't forget to study tonight. Maybe use some of the strategies we talked about in class. You could have someone quiz you, read the material out loud to yourself several times, re-write it all, put it onto note cards, etc.
I have been looking at resources that will be useful for students to help them study at home. I have found a few websites that I think are pretty good. Practice tests are a great way to see how well the student knows the material. Some of the sites and apps I have found are for AP tests, which are advanced, but they still will help the students out. Here are a couple of websites:
http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/ap/ap-economics-course-description.pdf *This one has a practice quiz about half way through. http://www.sparknotes.com/economics/ *This does not have a practice quiz, but has terms and other useful resources. I also found some apps on the iPhone and iPad. I do not know if they are available on an Android, but it is worth checking. iPhone app - Econ AP Free - it has some good quizzes. Some of the questions are pretty advanced, but a lot of them are relevant. Like it says in the name of it, it is free. iPad - Allen AP is a good app. To get the Micro and Macro full test, it is $1.99 each. You don't need to spend the money because there are lots of free materials out there, but if you or your student wanted more, it is an option. They also have an ACT Prep portion that looks good, with 1,942 practice questions, but the cost was quite a bit more. I know for the forever version it was $19.99. You can also look at text book apps. I know McGraw Hill has a pretty good one. We don't use that book, but the terms are going to be the same. I hope this is helpful. |
