Wow! We are down to just two weeks left! I don't know how this semester went so fast, but it did. It has been a really wonderful semester, I have enjoyed working with all of my students. We have some great students here at Olivet!
For the last two weeks we will be wrapping up a project that the students started last week, their LDC brochure. They are due next Wednesday. Just in case some students need to know what the info they have to find is, I will post it below the entry.
The students will be doing some research on colleges too. I am going to have the students pick 3 colleges/trade schools they are interested in for their potential future career and research it.
Next week as well, the students will be writing their final essay for this class. The students will be getting the prompt for it on Tuesday, but I will put that here too along with the exam review sheet if they would like to see it over the long weekend.
I hope everyone is able to get some rest this weekend and come back ready to finish strong on Tuesday!
Brochure:
You are going to be creating a brochure highlighting a LDC. You will be picking your LDC out of a hat so everyone will have a different country. I will be giving you a list of criteria that you need to have on your brochure. Each person will be creating their own brochure.
To create a brochure you can use the word templates. Go to the start button and click on new, a list of different options will come up and you should choose brochures. At that point you can pick what format you like best.
Information that needs to be included on your Brochure:

For the graphing you will be drawing the demand curve and supply curve on the graph provided and you will be shifting the correct line to find the new equilibrium.
Find the equilibrium:
A market started with an equilibrium of 100 shovels at $15.00 each. Today is the first day of winter and it is snowing. Show me the shift for this problem and give me an example of a new equilibrium. (Tell me what the new X and Y could be). Also, make sure you label the demand, supply, original equilibrium, new equilibrium, disequilibrium, price, and quantity.
